About this class

This course covers Integrity server virtualization using the HP Integrity Virtual Machines (Integrity VM software. Experienced HP-UX administrators learn to fully use the flexibility of the Integrity VM software to maximize the resource utilization of their Integrity servers and develop the skills needed to install, configure, and manage Integrity VM. The two-day course is 50 percent lecture and 50 percent hands-on labs using HP servers.

  • HP-UX System Adminstrators with previous virtual partition experience.
  • HP-UX System Managers.

What delegates will learn

At the conclusion of this course you should be able to:-

  • Define the relationship between a VM host and VM guest.
  • Configure, boot, monitor, modify and manage VM guests.
  • Use the Virtual Machines Manager to monitor a VM environment.
  • Relate teh HP Integrity Virtual Machines software with other hardware and software components of HP's Virtual Server Environment.
  • Install HP Virtual Machines software on a properly configured HP Integrity server.
  • Boot the VM host.

What prerequisites are required

  • HP-UX System and Network Adminstration I and H3064S
  • HP-UX System and Network Administration II or H3065S
  • HP-UX System and Network Administration for Experienced UNIX(R) System Administrators and H5875S
  • HP Partition Management and U5075S
  • Familiarity with network concepts and configuration.
