About this class

This course enables delegates with practical 2D experience of CAD to formalise their knowledge and receive career enhancement by gaining a widely recognised professional qualification.

Clients who have taken our Essential and Intermediate AutoCAD 2D Modules or experienced users wishing to gain a formal qualification.

Examination details

Success in all 3 units will result in the City & Guilds 4353-02 Certificate being awarded. Controlled Document Ref CG4353-02/0708

What prerequisites are required

  • It is recommended that delegates have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista.
  • We recommend this course to users who have attended our Essential and Intermediate AutoCAD 2D Modules.
  • 45 hours practice time prior to the Exam is recommended.

Contents of this class

This course is divided into two days to allow maximum preparation and revision before the examination.

During the course delegates will cover :

  • Use a layering system and different line type styles
  • Define and use a system for grouping objects to form blocks or libraries
  • Produce Isometric drawings within the 2D environment
  • Define and use an adjustable co-ordinate system based on user requirements
  • Use complex dimensioning routines
  • Use different drawing spaces
  • Produce hard copies of drawings
  • Make enquiries of an existing drawing and place reference points
  • Use a means of pre command object selection in order to carry out editing processes
  • Change the properties of a number of drawn entities
  • Edit blocks/symbols and hatched areas
  • Modify continuous lines formed by a connected sequence of lines/arcs (polylines)
  • Use a method to remove unused items and rename other items logically
