About this class

This course provides an introduction to HP NonStopT servers and to the system software that makes them reliable, scalable, open, and fast with an emphasis on the Open System Services (OSS) environment of the NonStop Kernel operating system.

The course describes design goals that have governed the development and evolution of NonStop servers. It also describes application, database, and operations environments, and provides laboratory exercises that will give you hands-on experience with some basic utilities and tools.

Who will the lesson benefit?

  • UNIX(R) application designers and developers who are preparing to work in the UNIX-based OSS environment on NonStop servers
  • UNIX system administrators whose duties may eventually include managing NonStop servers

What prerequisites are required

Familiarity with data processing concepts
