About this class The Integrated Security Appliance course provides concepts, methods and practices necessary to successfully use the Proventia M appliance. Starting with an introduction to the M Series technology and its components, the course focuses on hands-on exercises supported by demonstrations, presentations and lecture. Students will learn how to install and configure Proventia M. In addition, the course demonstrates how the M Series integrates disparate security technologies- VPN, Firewall, Antivirus and Intrusion Protection-into a single solution that monitors and protects a real-world network. - Configure the Proventia M firewall.

- Perform Network Address Translation (NAT) and Reverse NAT.
- Understand the use of lists.
- Explain the objectives of secure communications.
- Discuss methods of encryption.
- Explain details of the IPSec negotiation.
- Configure a Virtual Private Network.
- Describe components of the Proventia M intrusion prevention module.
- Detect and block an attack.
- Enable auditing and view intrusion events.

Key Hands-on Lab Focus and Objectives Install the Proventia M software and configure the appliance. Configure network interfaces, change Passwords, set the time and date settings. Connect to the Proventia Manager. Install license keys. Set up event notification. Create inbound and outbound firewall rules. Test your rules. Configure NAT, reverse NAT and port forwarding.
