About this class

The Fast Track course is aimed at delivering the content of the five-day CompTIA Server+ training and three-day Servicing ProLiant Servers training in a five day intensive format. All of the necessary courseware is provided.

The Server+ certification credential validates advanced-level technical competency of server issues and technology, including installation, configuration, upgrading, proactive maintenance, environmental considerations, troubleshooting and disaster recovery. The CompTIA Server+ certification exam validates the knowledge and abilities of individuals with experience of Industry Standard Server Architecture (ISSA). Server+ certification establishes the test candidate's ability to install, configure, diagnose and troubleshoot serer hardware and network operating systems.

The goal of Servicing Intel Server Products is to ensure a consitent base level of expertise among service engineers certified to configure, upgrade, diagnose, and repair ProLiant server products. By design, this course focuses on training the technician in both where to find information needed to configure and servcie server products, as well as how to perform the required service.

To meet this goal, field engineers, should be able to:-

  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly and accurately find ProLiant service documentation and product-specific information.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to use ProLiant service resources in configuring, upgrading and servicing ProLiant server products.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency and skills by working with ProLiant produtcts in a lab environment.
  • Demonstrate logical troubleshooting skills by problem recognition, problem isolation, solution development and testing for proper operation.

  • Locate and use HP information resources for ProLiant Servers.
  • Use HP SmartStart or manual path to install an operating system.
  • Discuss storage technologies.
  • Describe the six-step HP Troubleshooting Methodology.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency and skills by working with HP products in a lab environment.
  • Install and configure the server hardware and options.
  • Install and use Lights-Out remote management.
  • Explain fault tolerance and redundant technologies that can be implented to protect data and endure availability.
  • Identify and resolve common service issues.
