About this class

This four day course enables delegates to design a Data Centre network solution that optimizes availability, scalability, performance, and security, using the Catalyst 6500, Catalyst 4948, Firewall Services Module (FWSM), Intrusion Detection Services Module (IDSM-2), and Network Analysis Module (NAM).

Who will the lesson benefit?

This course is intended for Cisco System Engineers, Customer System Engineers and Partner System Engineers.

What delegates will learn

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Given customer requirements, the delegate will be able to create a Data Center network design that optimizes availability, scalability, and performance for that environment.
  • Given an understanding of Layer 2 and 3 protocols, the delegate will be able to create an access layer design that optimizes data flows.
  • Given an understanding of Layer 2 and 3 protocols, the delegate will be able to create an aggregation layer design that optimizes data flows.
  • Given an understanding of Layer 2 and 3 protocols, the delegate will be able to create a core layer design that optimizes data flows.
  • Given an understanding of Layer 2 and 3 protocols, the delegate will be able to optimize a data centre design to achieve high availability. Create an access layer design that optimizes data flows
  • Given customer security requirements, the delegate will be able to design a security implementation using Catalyst 6500 service modules.
  • Given network monitoring requirements, the delegate will be able to implement the Catalyst 6500 NAM to provide centralized network monitoring services.
