About this class

This two day course for support personnel introduces the Network Installation Management (NIM) utility offered in AIX 5L version 5.1. The utility provides a method for administrators to install and maintain AIX using network connections from a centralized management site. Support of network connections presently includes Token-Ring, Ethernet, FDDI, and ATM LANs. Students will learn NIM concepts, setup, and usage during lectures which includes push/pull functions and customized client installations and maintenance operations.

Lecture materials are re-enforced by students performing hands-on exercises using AIX servers.
